2017 Country Music Awards review and favorite moments

As always and expected, Brad and Carrie made excellent hosts and where able to keep things light hearted and fun most of the time, yet sincere, meaningful and downright emotional when needed.

Now anytime you put Reba onstage you are pretty much guaranteed gold. This time she had gold literally singing with her. Kelsea Ballerini showed what she was made of performing "Legends" with help from an actual country ledged.

Pink turned some heads with her "Barbies" belt out, she won me over at the 2010 Grammy's with her Glitter in the Air performance. I have a couple of sisters who are not big fans but the standing ovation here proves she can successfully harness more than one genre.

Male Vocalist of the year is well deserved for Chris Stapleton, I could listen to that voice for days. And Morgane looked stunning. After carrying just one, I applaud her for looking that, good, performing that well, while carrying TWO babies! You go mama!

Alan Jackson Thank you for bringing it back! I was having as much fun in my living room as the people right there with you singing “Chasin’ that Neon Rainbow”. It spoke to me again as it did back in the day.

I think its worth note and appreciation that while accepting his Entertainer of the Year award, Garth Brooks gave a sincere thank you to band and crew. He’s awesome and that little shout out made me happy.

And Eric Church, are you kidding me? Great all around... including to look at..
I adore Miranda Lambert. I think she is a bad ass, I dig her talent, independence, compassion and attitude. She made it all more apparent in her acceptance speech for Female Vocalist of the Year. "I just wanna say that, more than any other year that I've been part of the CMAs, I feel truly like there's a family in this room tonight. I feel like we're bonded together and banded together more than we ever have been, and I feel like country music is winning right now."

I teared up as Carrie Underwood gave a chilling performance. It wasn’t until the photos of the fallen from the Vegas massacre that I got really choked. When her voice cracked, and you could tell she was crying and fighting to finish the song, I felt every bit of that emotion. It was truly beautiful.
Keith Urban won a well-deserved Single of the year award for “Blue Ain’t Your Color”. What I want to talk about though, is Urban’s “Female” performance. In response to the Harvey Weinstein scandal. Just him, a guitar, and some powerful lyrics on a screen behind him. Few could perform, move and capture a room quite like that. I’ve had a crush on good ol’ Keith since I was a teen and he’s still got it and then some.

It was a jam packed epic night with too much to mention it all. However, I couldn’t sign off without commenting on Carries 11 outfit changes. She can pull off just about anything and certainly almost any color. Not every outfit was a home run for me but I really liked most of them. I commend her and her team for being able to pull that off. She must be exhausted. Carrie, If you ever need a fill in I would be happy to try on all the pretties for you. ;)  PS. I think this was my fave what about you?
